Adventure Galley – Addict

Merry Christmas and happy holidays to all. To mark the occasion, I’m very pleased to share with you today’s Song of the Day, Adventure Galley – Addict.

This melodic post-punk electro indie track will be an easy add to most playlists, especially ones that are intended to make you move. With synthesisers, drum machines and traditional rock instruments, Adventure Galley’s sound alludes to influences of Arcade Fire, The Killers and MGMT which can be heard throughout their two albums: The Right Place To Be (2010) and Anywhere That’s Wild (2013).

Formed in Portland, OR, in 2007 by childhood friends David Mill and Aaron Johnson Adventure Galley soon added Brock Grenfell (drums), George Schultz (Keys/Guitar), Jesse Suihkonen (Bass), and Forrest Grenfell (Synthesiser) to round out the band.  It was not long after that they were winning the Toyota Music: Rock the Space 2  contest put on by MySpace Records. From there, the band has stuck to their neck of the woods in or around Portland and have yet to produce any new music for some time now. After listening to Adventure Galley – Addict, I’m sure you’ll share my sentiment that they get back in the studio as soon as they can.
